SOCIAL & COMMUNITY RELATIONS

SCHOOL DONATION AND SUPPORT, TREES PLANTING AND HOUSEHOLD E-WASTE AWARENESS PROGRAM

BS actively engages with the local community through various corporate social responsibilities (CSR) programs. Under its Education Pillar, BS donated school uniforms, upgraded computer rooms, and provided reference books, computers, and printers to several schools. In 2019, BS organized a tree-planting event and family day, where employees and their families planted 100 trees within the factory area, demonstrating the company's commitment to environmental protection. In 2022, BS collaborated with the Department of Environment Johor for a mangrove planting CSR program at Tanjung Piai National Park, planting 200 mangrove trees and collecting 332 kg of rubbish. BS also conducted E-Waste awareness programs from 2022 to 2023, promoting household E-Waste recycling and facilitating collection at DOE-registered E-Waste premises.

1 Hour Johor Clean Up Program

Bahru Stainless joined the 1 Hour Johor Clean-Up Program!

In support of the FMM Johor Branch’s initiative, our team — including employees and contractors — successfully carried out a gotong-royong clean-up session at our premises on June 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

This meaningful effort not only promotes a cleaner and safer environment by eliminating Aedes mosquito breeding grounds, but also serves as a great opportunity to enhance teamwork and bonding among employees and contractors, while strengthening our contractor HSE engagement.

🌿 Through the spirit of gotong-royong, we are committed to a united, safer, and healthier Johor.

CSR Mangrove Planting Program with DOE

In fulfilling the CSR environmental pillar, BS also invited the Department of Environment Johor to join our mangrove CSR program at Tanjung Piai National Park in conjunction with the Environmental Day Celebration.  In this event, 200 mangroves trees were planted and 332kg of rubbish were cleaned up on 4 August 2022.

BS also held the E-Waste awareness programs in 2022-2023, which promote the Household E-Waste recycling and facilitate the E-Waste collection initiatives to enable employees to recycle their household E-waste at the DOE registered E-Waste prescribed premise.
