In February 2008 Acerinox, SA took the decision to undertake, in phases, a new project in Malaysia. This decision, taken after a thorough feasibility study in which other alternatives were included, results in the construction of an integrated production plant in Johor Bahru. The land consists of 140 Ha (350 acres), with direct access to the sea. On January 15, 2009, the definitive agreement was signed with NISSHIN STEEL, which structures its participation in the BAHRU STAINLESS project. On December 2, 2010, the first coil was processed in its facilities.
