Black Coils
Hot rolled coil product in semi-finish condition that has not been annealed or pickled.
Hot Annealing and Pickling
The state-of- art of annealing and pickling stainless steels involve heating of black coils (3~12mm) above recrystallization temperature in order to ensure that the microstructure is regenerated and all mechanical properties are recovered. It is then followed by a descaling process, wherein the thermally-produced oxide scales are removed mechanically by scale breaker and shot blaster and chemically removed by pickling in solutions of acids.
Coil Build-Up Line
Coil Build-Up Line is a machine to apply leader strips in top and end coil in order to improve yield.
Sendzimir Mills
Sendzimir Mill or Z-Mill is a machine for cold rolling for stainless steel. This 20-high mill configuration utilizes cascaded supporting rolls to apply force on the small work rolls in the center. This roll setup exerts extremely high forces through the work roll and yet keeps the work roll from flexing. The combination of high pressure and tension makes the mill capable of rolling material as thin as 0.3mm in Bahru Stainless.
Cold Annealing and Pickling
It is similar process as hot annealing and pickling but cold annealing and picking process only run cold rolled materials ranging from 0.3mm ~ 6mm without applying scale breaker and shot blaster. It is a process where final treatment is performed by achieving the mechanical characteristics and the metallurgical structure of stainless steel. An in-line skin pass mill is built to transform 2D finishes into 2B. Nevertheless, Parsytec system which is excellence in defect recognition is installed to perform continuous process optimization.
Skin Pass Mills
The device uses skin pass rolling to improve the mechanical properties and surface texture (crystal grain structure is obtained) and final 2B surface brightness.
Polishing Line
Finishing processes that utilize abrasive belts which generate a brushed or lined finish, leaving a surface with a significant specular reflection.
Slitting Lines
A process by which material is cut in parallel direction against rolling direction into a specific width from a mother coil in order to produce trimmed or narrow strips.
Cut to length Lines
A process by which material is cut in perpendicular direction against rolling direction into a specific length from a mother coil in order to produced materials in sheet form.
