Bahru Stainless Awards RM305 Million Solar Project to Binastra ⚡
Bahru Stainless proudly announces the award of a RM305 million Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning (EPCC) contract to Binastra for the development of a landmark 65 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system and 200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at our facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
This transformative investment represents a major step forward in our journey toward a more sustainable, efficient, and resilient manufacturing ecosystem. By integrating renewable solar power with advanced energy storage and AI-enabled optimization, Bahru Stainless is pioneering a cleaner and smarter approach to industrial energy management in Malaysia’s steel sector.
As part of our long-term sustainability roadmap, this initiative reinforces our commitment to reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and driving Malaysia’s transition to a low-carbon economy. It also reflects our belief that environmental responsibility and industrial growth can move forward together — strengthening competitiveness while preserving the planet for future generations. 🌍
This initiative is in line with the Malaysian Steel Industry Roadmap 2035, unveiled by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz at the ASEAN Policymakers Conference on Steel and the 2025 ASEAN Iron and Steel Forum, which aims to accelerate the industry’s transformation toward sustainable, low-carbon growth and greater global competitiveness.
Together with our partners and wider steel community, we are powering our progress to sustainable and green national stainless steel. 🌱
